These two terms describe the underlying reality of every real money game, and understanding them is what lets you decide how much to play.
RTP
RTP stands for Return to Player. If a game has an RTP of 96 percent, it means that for every 100 rupees staked in total, roughly 96 goes back to players and 4 stays with the platform.
The critical word is average. That average is measured across millions of rounds, not across the twenty rounds you play tonight. In a single session you may finish well above or well below it.
House edge
House edge is simply the inverse of RTP. A 96 percent RTP means a 4 percent house edge. It is the reason no player finishes ahead over the long run.
A small edge, a large effect
Suppose the house edge is 4 percent and you stake 100 rupees per round. If you play 200 rounds in an hour, your total turnover is 20,000. Four percent of that is roughly 800 rupees of expected loss, in a single hour. This is why fast games drain a balance so quickly.

Both speed and stake size increase the rate of loss, even in a game with a low house edge. Playing a low edge game very fast can cost more than a high edge game played slowly.
Does playing more get me back to the RTP?
No. Playing more moves you closer to an average that is already against you. Playing longer makes the loss more certain, not less.
Can a game have an RTP above 100 percent?
Not in normal conditions. Anyone claiming otherwise is not telling the truth.
